As we observe Advent which is the period in preparation for the Christmas
season, I trust that you and your families are well, and wish you and yours
peace, blessings and prosperity during these remaining days of 2020 and
throughout the New Year!
On the occasion, of the 1st Anniversary of The Fox Hill Charitable Organization (FHCO), it is with a sincere
sense of gratitude and deep appreciation that I extend warm congratulations to the team comprising the
Board of Directors and all the present members of the Fox Hill Charitable Organization.
During the unprecedented years of late 2019 & early 2020 of Hurricane Dorian, COVID-19 and the global
pandemic, this organization has defied the odds of negativity, looked adversity, death, and destruction in the
“eye”, stood steadfast, and birthed a brand-new Non-Governmental Organization within the Commonwealth
of The Bahamas in general and in the Fox Hill Community in particular. Therefore, the organization’s theme
is most appropriate, timely, and fitting because, despite the hardships, famine, gloom, and doom of the twin
crises we can certainly say that is spite of everything, “To God Be The Glory, Great Things He Has Done”!
As we look around within the areas of the community that FHCO has tried to make an impact, we can also
say that had we not pressed forward to bring this dream to reality, the institutions positively impacted
because of the list of outreach programs and activities sponsored by the organization would not have been
possible. Having regards for such favor, it is noteworthy to pause and bring cause for humility, gratitude, and
appreciation by honoring God, in this Anniversary, Praise and Thanksgiving Service for His Graces, Mercies,
and Blessings on this organization. We Give God all the Glory, Honor, and Praise.
As we move forward, it is our sincere hope that others may be enlightened and inspired to consider making a
positive contribution and donation to the worthy causes of FHCO. It is also hoped that many other residents
and community-minded individuals will be willing to join us, either financially or in-kind to offer their support
and assistance to advance the goals and objectives of the organization, for the further growth and
development of the Fox Hill Community.
It was my desire and has been my honor to assist in laying a firm foundation to jump start the FHCO by
completing all the groundwork to establish an operation that is fully equipped and ready to be handed on to
other like and civic-minded individuals and the next generation for its’ continued growth and prosperity.
Nonetheless, I am indeed grateful that no matter the outcome, we can certainly say that for such a time as
this, and despite perilous odds, we have come this far by faith. We have made our mark and presence felt
within this community. We hope that our examples of charity and selflessness may become a sign of hope
for some and encouragement for many others, young and old to be inspired to move to action for worthy and
noble causes. We trust that they activate their HEARTs to bring Hope, Empowerment, Advocacy,
Resourcefulness, and Teamwork to support the poor, needy, homeless, speechless, hopeless, and
marginalized with our community.
This commemorative program booklet has been inspired by our forefathers and mothers and other leaders
within the community, past, and present. It is hoped that the memories captured will continue to be an
inspiration that reminds us of who we are as a people and community, and of our goodly and Godly heritage
and love for humanity.
